One of the Last Remaining Fishing Ports in Croatia

To get lost down the cobbled corridors of Rovinj is a relaxing and pleasant experience that washes away any lingering anxiety of big city living. A favorite past time of ours was to casually wander through the little streets of what is now one of the last remaining fishing ports in all the Mediterranean, and watch the plethora of sea birds dart across the spacing of rooftops that created alleyways in the sky. This quaint little fishing town isn’t just for the birds, though. In fact, the fish we watched native anglers pull from the sea that morning likely made trips to hotels and restaurants upwards of 250 kilometers away to be served at its freshest, giving literal meaning to the commonly overused expression “catch of the day.”
