SIPSMITH DISTILLERY: A THROWBACK TO THE FORMER GLOR OF HOUSEHOLD DISTILLERIES.
Sipsmith in London is a small production with a big twist. The modest blue doors of the establishment don’t boast what’s behind them, but upon entering, you’re immediately struck with a class and elegance that wouldn’t be found in a more modern outfit. In fact, Sipsmith is the first copper-pot distillery to open up in London for hundreds of years. Prudence, as Fairfax Hall, co-owner and proprietor calls it, is the vintage pot and helm that creates these alcoholic infusions. It’s classically sleek body, surrounded by glass containers filled with spices and seasonings, completes the image of something a bit more free-spirited being created here. Sipsmith’s goal is to be unique, and with a dash of lavender or a pinch of cinnamon, they create gins and vodkas that would command the respect of any cocktail connoisseurs that pass through his workshop.
